I visited this facility Carlsbad by the Sea was a very beautiful looking facility. It was clean and well maintained. It was like living in a beautiful luxurious apartment building. It was situated in a very nice community. They had a full program for activities. They had a pool and a hobby room. The people that we spoke with were very knowledgeable and helpful. I visited this facility The place is beautiful, the ocean is literally right there. As soon as you walk in you notice how clean it is and how beautiful. Theres people of all ages i believe its 55 and up. And they looked happy unlike other places we looked. It didnt look like they were being caged inside the whole time. We viewed the rooms which were beautiful lots of space and a big bathroom. We also toured the kitchen seemed like it had pretty good food for a retirement home. I am a friend or relative of a resident My 90 year old grandmother has lived at Carlsbad by the Sea since the facility opened nearly two decades ago. She enjoys living there for a wide variety of reasons. Her apartment is nice, and offers her a personal space surrounded by her own familiar belongings, even in an assisted living situation. The location near the beach is beautiful, and she is walking distance from restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. She often uses the shuttle service for further trips. I am/was a resident of this facility My wife and I lived in Carlsbad By the Sea. It was pretty good up until the time we left. We're independent living. The in-house doctor there with the nurse decided that my wife had dementia, and that she had to move out. Of course, I wouldn't let her move out without me so that's why we left. Basically, they threw us out. You really have to be careful. If you or the wife is even close to having dementia or needing special memory care, they're going to toss you out. Wh... read more
