Always a Fun Family Day at the Track! Play the slots for $15 till it's gone, eat Cheesesteaks, then watch the Thoroughbreds! So glad this place survived!
I love going here to watch the horses run, and the casino has a nice selection of slot machines to choose from. The casino is very clean, and the service is very helpful and courteous.
I was there for only one race. This was the 1st time I have ever been to a live horse race. Colonial Downs has a good reputation and now I see why. Clean & exciting. There's a huge screen tv there, so you won't lose track of the horses when they're on the far side of the track. Plenty of parking.
This place is super fun! It is so much bigger and nicer than I imagined! Lots of slot machines and if there was a smoking area I didn’t smell it. The program was so helpful for a beginner with even a section on interpreting the data. You can go over to the paddock and look at the horses before the race. We went on a Thursday and it was not crowded at all. I did wonder if there would be enough betting kiosks on a weekend. Will definitely be back (on another weekday!)
The grounds are pretty. Clean and well landscaped. I went on a Saturday family day, to watch the wiener dog races. I ended up also watching some horse races.I remained track level and had a great view at the finish line. The food was reasonably priced, the alcohol was about average for most sports venues.
