I fired my first divorce attorney and got really bad advice from them that hurt me. Jonathan did a fantastic job, had much better advivce and strategies to help me get 50% custody of my kids and a positive settlement outcome. Highly recommend!

Richard Dowse was quick and to the point. He outlined the challenge I was faced with. We succeeded with the divorce but my very nice house had to go. I wanted to keep it. After being on the market for two months at the time the market began slowing. So I hired him again for a modification to buy the ex out. I made one of the most difficult decisions and turned down his strong advice to not go this way. Modifications typically do not go well and can cost a lot of time and money. He supported me anyways. Had a consultation with one of their attorneys and immediately knew that retaining them would make my divorce significantly more difficult. Right out of the gate he suggested that we use my ex's medical issues to our advantage and paint her as something that even I knew she wasn't. Ended up hiring another firm and the marriage ended with just a stipulation. Happily divorced with 50/50 physical and legal custody and no alimony or child support thanks to Elenia Cozean.

DONT DO IT! Unless you enjoy paying for false promises and an attorney that wont even try to fight for you. I should have known at the first meeting in court when he didn't even know exactly what he was representing my partner for that this was a huge mistake. But we had already paid the retainer and couldn't afford to start all over again. It was a time sensitive issue so we felt pressure to stay. Very inept law firm that in my experience seems to hire lawyers that speak eloquently but don't know legal process and procedure. In my case this resulted in me paying a lot of fees and getting my case dropped based on my attorney missing an appropriate deadline. Then, they of course admit no wrong doing and aren't willing to discount their services or compensate me at all for their mistake. Id recommend them highly to represent your very ill-behaved ex but never to anyone you desire to have strong legal services.

Do not waste your money. Did nothing for me and after reading more of the reviews I realized I got the same shady service as others. I would get an email saying something to the effect of, "are you available for a phone call tomorrow." I would reply yes. Then I wouldn't get a call. Numerous times that happened. But to add insult to injury, I would get a bill for $100 or more. They charged me for an email and then wouldn't even call. That is the shady stuff they do. My lawyer didn't do anything I asked. The worst decision I made during this divorce was hiring Cordell and Cordell. I spent over 10,000 dollars and didn't even get a pretrial. The attorney wouldn't even request the custody I told her I wanted during court or make the offers I wanted during mediation. The hourly fees are 350.00 an hour and most other lawyers are 250 an hour. I cannot stress enough that you find any other lawyer than these guys. You guys deserve zero stars. Do not use this firm at all. Hire the firm and it started off great. Did the consultation that went well and paid for that as well. But then they say that attorney has a lot of cases so assigned me another attorney. Now you have to explain everything all over again and pay them for the hour. Moving on to the next time they screwed me over money. My case was now deferred and sent to another jurisdiction where I have a hearing months from now. FULL BLOWN SCAM! If you value your kids, time and or money, do NOT use these con artist. They couldn't care less about your case. They make an hourly wage and put little to no effort into it. Even when your case is idle they will charge you on a regular basis for account review even when they haven't done a damn thing for your case. No emails, calls or anything. They trick you by only having a small retainer in comparison to other firms, so they can nickel and dime your $1000 to 0 then force you to replenish it or they drop ... read more
