I do not recommend this community to others. I don't think my father was taken care of like they said they would. The community is very dirty and when we pick up his belongings things were missing also.
They have lost a lot of my husband's belongings. Everything from shoes to blankets to even his wedding ring are now missing. I don't think he is receiving the level of care that he needs. I haven't been able to see him because of the Covid-19 pandemic in months. It would be nice if I could see him through at least a glass door.
Poorly run facility. Large turn over in staff. More staff needed to help all the residents in each cottage.
When I moved my Mom in last year it was wonderful!! My sister and I couldn't have been pleased more. We had the best 10 months!! Then in August, the changes of administration came with cut backs where the residents and staff were in jeopardy. The place is now so filthy, the food is also not the same since the Food Director left and now the caregiver leaves the cottage to go up to the front building to roll the food to the cottage! I did not like this community. We found a mouse in his air vent. The staff were rude and not helpful. The management informed us that he was injured in his wheel chair that he did not have. They did not follow up with family on the care that he received after being in the hospital. They lack communication. My father was not placed in the correct area of the community due to he was able to do alot on his own without assistance. I would not recommend this community to other families for care.
This facility would lend itself to residents who are in the last stages of dementia, who don't require a great deal of stimulation. My husband is currently a resident and due to his energy and activity level challenges the facility and it's caretakers. The activities are less than fulfilling for someone who requires more stimulation and actual participation; i.e. their mainstays are bingo (every Tuesday), sing-alongs, trivia, coloring, etc. Very simplistic. This facility completely hid many of their faults when we visited. Their concept is fantastic. However, they r not completely honest nor do they disclose everything. They do not let you tour all of the cottages. They will evaluate your loved one at their worst and put them with inappropriate peers. If your loves one improves, as mine did, they do not work to move them into a higher cottage- as this "is a process". The whole experience was very aggrivating. The treatment was zero and the worst thing was that her engagement ring disappeared and everybody is pleading the fifth. Nobody returns a phone call. There is no activity, no socializing. They just sit on a couch and sleep and drool. If you are not advocating, nothing gets done. It was a nightmare.
