We had a really great dinner at this Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. The restaurant is kept clean and the store is well stocked with a huge selection of merchandise. The food is very good, not and fresh with a nice selection. The service here is also very good, friendly and attentive.
We had a good late lunch here on a trip through Birmingham. This was a good location, the menu was complete and the service was great. They had the obligatory peg game on the table as well that helped pass the time. The food was good and hot and service was quick for our little stop while on a schedule.
Cracker Barrel these days can be a hit or miss, no matter the location. We visit here frequently and they for the most part do well. This experience was fantastic! We surprisingly sat right away but could tell they were putting a lot of butts in seats, and fast. With that, comes a bogged down kitchen. But because Catherine, our amazing server, was so pleasant and attentive, it really made the wait manageable. The food came hot and cooked as we asked with over easy eggs and a medium steak. Edit Jan 16 2025; After Immediately being greeted as I walked in, I was left standing at the hostess station for several minutes. Three employees walked past me as if I wasn’t there. I stood there long enough to notice that their current Health Department score is 85%. So, I left. I don’t think anyone noticed or they didn’t care or both.Cracker Barrel, has done better. My experience was not good. I had placed a takeout order. Ordered a meatloaf dinner meatloaf was burnt the fried apples were mushy and had pieces of okra in it. Even though it was takeout it should have been prepared the same as a dine in. I was very disappointed.
