For the second time in a week, I attempted the shrimp steak special. First attempt shrimp came late, cold and dry. Second attempt barely any seasoning and no shrimp. I in no way blame the waiters as they were swamped and one you could tell was very new. I appreciate their hard work and dedication as both were quick to remedy the issue.
Our server was awesome, sweet, extremely friendly, polite and perfect for taking care of our family's dining needs. However, the food is never consistent. Some visits, it is fresh, hot, and delicious. Other times, like our last visit, the steaks were too done and tough, the baby carrots were barely warm and watery tasting with no sweetness or flavor. We came after church on a Sunday and it was delicious! Love the atmosphere, the good quality food, and the friendly staff. Our server, Alice, was wonderful and even went above and beyond for our 7 year old son by giving him a Oreo straw for his milk. We love coming here for the true southern hospitality and the great food. Pancakes all day any day is a plus! We also like their $5 take home meals - I prefer the meatloaf.
We waited 20 minutes before my husband went to get someone to let them know we hadn’t even been waited on for drinks. The manager came over took our drink order and sent a waitress over who told us she didn’t know she had our table. When our food came out my carrots were barely warm and the dressing was dryer than the dessert. I asked the waitress if it’s always like that and she said it is. I love the staff. And the kitchen is phenomenal. I have been to a lot of Cracker Barrel’s. But this one is by far the best. You can definitely tell the cooks put effort and pride into the food. My husband takes me here every couple months. This is truly one of my favorite places to eat.
