For the second time in a week, I attempted the shrimp steak special. First attempt shrimp came late, cold and dry. Second attempt barely any seasoning and no shrimp. I in no way blame the waiters as they were swamped and one you could tell was very new. I appreciate their hard work and dedication as both were quick to remedy the issue.
We waited 20 minutes before my husband went to get someone to let them know we hadn’t even been waited on for drinks. The manager came over took our drink order and sent a waitress over who told us she didn’t know she had our table. When our food came out my carrots were barely warm and the dressing was dryer than the dessert. I asked the waitress if it’s always like that and she said it is. I love the staff. And the kitchen is phenomenal. I have been to a lot of Cracker Barrel’s. But this one is by far the best. You can definitely tell the cooks put effort and pride into the food. My husband takes me here every couple months. This is truly one of my favorite places to eat.
We were surprised at how bad the situation was at the Morehead KY Cracker Barrel when we arrived after the noon rush, around 1pm on Friday 2/7/25. We waited for 20 minutes to get our drinks, and another 45 for our meal. The waitress was very sweet, but overwhelmed by kitchen drama and the fact that about a dozen tables had not been bussed.
