I don’t normally go to Cracker Barrel. The only times I’ve really visited there were church trips or family trips. It is not a place I consider when ordering takeout. I was gifted a gift card for Christmas so I decided to test the waters. I knew I wanted breakfast food even though I was using it for dinner. Brought my granddaughter here to eat and so that she could see the authentic fireplace. She was mesmerized the moment we arrived. She rocked outside in the rockers, she browsed through the store and she was in awe of the fireplace. She wanted to know how they turned it off when they closed. Now, the food - the food was absolutely AMAZING. We both had the fried catfish. She had corn and green beans. I had slaw and sweet potato soufflé. Delicious can’t describe the taste. The food looked probably delicious if it had been served hot and fresh. This visit wasn't their best. The waitress had three tables and seemed to be overwhelmed. No lemons for the tea. No to go containers available. I was told it was in the stockroom. Never came to refill the tea until she brought the check and was kind enough to give us the tea to go cups.
Same old same old Cracker Barrel. Service was horrendous today though. Blame was placed on the kitchen, “there’s only one cook”. Could be believable but three tables around us sat after we did, and had their food before ours. Appetizer didn’t come until after the main course. Hash Browns came with a beautiful piece of Kraft fake cheese on top. Less than ideal visit, to say the least.
Worst service in mi life. My wife's food never came out. "Maple bacon grilled chicken" and i wont talke about my food. I believe a review speaks more than complaint with the manager. When we told waiter she tried to go and order it, came back and sait it would be a few minutes. And my wife said she didnt want the burger anymore so i told the waiter we didnt wanted anymore nor my loaded sweet patatoe that never came out either.
