Food took way longer then necessary to come out. They forgot items and gave us ones we didn't ask for. Chicken was under cooked but the veggies were good. They were also out of a few items. They seemed annoyed when some of us asked for dessert because it was close to closing time.
While in Virginia recently I saw a man with a gun in a holster that had no clip or strap or any way to prevent someone grabbing it. Families and children were everywhere. (This is not a permit to carry issue. This is not a right to own a gun issue. What I saw was simply a man being irresponsible.) A business can put a sign at their entrance that states "NO Weapons". We ordered drinks...got them waitress disappeared, came back 10 minutes later took our order disappeared again 15-20 minutes...had to get another waiter to get another drink...then waitress comes and says kitchen is backed up....then what really got me were the two tables near ours that were seated and had ordered after us were served. Done!!! We left...will not ever be back!!
My husband and I went there today at 2:30 for lunch. Worst experience ever! They ran out of chicken and dumplings and no one informed us until we waited 20 minutes....we were then told it would be 5 to 10 minutes longer. Good for families. I ate at Cracker Barrel a long time ago, and recently decided to go again. My boyfriend was really excited. We got right in, and our waitress came within a few minutes. I got "granpa's country breakfast" or something like that. I just felt funny ordering that because not only am I 20, but I'm a petite woman as well! hahaha I don't know why that just struck me as wierd. But...
Say what you will.. I try to eat locally as much as possible, but you can not deny the consistency this place churns out. It is my go to place while traveling, if I don't have other plans. And it is my go to place at home when I am feeling like breakfast for dinner.
