It has been years since I've been to a Cracker Barrel. My husband and I went to this particular restaurant this past weekend. I was sorely disappointed. I had chicken and french toast. The chicken was really good. It tasted like the KFC of old. The french toast was terrible. It was way too soft; no flavor, no cinnamon, and no powdered sugar. I went at dinner time. My food was good. Fork was dirty, so many screaming children and kids running around. Workers were sitting at a table eating and talking. My waitress, Kaitlyn, was very unprofessional. She audibly laughed when taking our order because of child’s outburst (pretty sure he was autistic). When the children started screaming she said “that’s my birth control for the day” and laughed again.
This is my favorite Cracker Barrel location. My friends and I have an inside joke about this Cracker Barrel in particular, so I had to stop by while driving past this most recent time. I’ve been here 4 times and the food, service, and store have always been amazing. This time I got the 10oz Strip Steak, the Mashed Potatoes, the Corn, the Dumplin’s, the Fried Shrimp, and of course the Biscuits. Also this is the only place that I know of that has Clove chewing gum, which my Dad really likes.
There were 14 in our party. The seating process was not very efficient. The server was very sweet and fun. She did a great and accurate job taking and serving our food. She had all of our bills correct and distributed accurately. Everyone was very happy with the food, however, the only complaint was that the mashed potatoes were cold, the same thing happened on previous visits --that was the only negative of the whole food experience. We took our visiting nephew out. We were sat quickly. Considering how busy it was, our drinks and dinner didn't take long. Everything was cooked and delivered correctly. Our server did great. The food was delicious.
