I ordered the new shrimp and grits, and a side of the new seasoned rice, absolutely horrible!! The shrimp and grits were extremely greasy, and the rice was clumped together, cold and bland. The shrimp and grits made me sick all night long, from both ends. We eat cracker barrel 2-4 times a week, as we haul mobile homes and travel for work, but I will just stick to our usual, and never try anything new again.
Honestly, I feel more welcomed at Waffle House across the road. Usually on the weekends, we come in and the older lady working the host stand looks grumpy and never says anything and hardly responds on check in. Again, this happens every weekend. Something else that happens every single time is that I ask to start with biscuits while we wait for our breakfast and the waitress brings it out with our meal every time. We had an excellent waitress who was very attentive, friendly, and fast. Our food came out fast and was hot. Everything was what we asked for even the type of jelly. In the past, we did not like to frequent this location because of the service and food quality. But they have really stepped up their game. They are on top of it now!!
Our server, Tonya was very friendly and helpful with menu options. Our food was delicious, pot roast with mashed potatoes and carrots. We ordered Apple French Toast to take with us for breakfast the next day and it is delicious also. The manager stopped by our table to see if food was good and we appreciate that. The cashier Adriana was very polite and friendly.Highly recommend Cracker Barrel in Shelbyville KY.
Last night was undoubtedly the best dining out at Cracker Barrel in at least three years. The Planets must have aligned. Usually something is off order wrong something or whole meal cold. But last night my meal and my wife's meal was perfect. Our waiter was on the ball as soon as our food came up he brought it to us, and they were busy. Couldn't have been any better.
