TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Really solid food. Took forever to move through the line on the day I was there but once I actually placed my order it came very quick. I will say that the spicy level was inconsistent; I ordered the reaper, which requires you to sign a goofy waiver, and the first sandwich I had was spicy but not unbearable. The second one was very very spicy (which is what I wanted, but it didn't make sense that it was tame the first time).
I got the reaper and it was an absolute hottest thing I ever got. You literally have to sign a waiver to order the reaper... The chicken was good though it has an excellent crunch and extremely moist. I got the very hot and mild as well. The very hot was pretty toasty but enjoyable. Mild was good as well. Definitely worth a try, but don't get the reaper, I'm serious 🥵😭
I visited this place with my boyfriend a week or two ago, and right away, we were welcomed by one of the nicest cashiers I've ever met. His name was Trey, and he was incredibly kind and genuine—it was clear he was happy to be there and to help us. We later found out it was his first day, but you never would’ve guessed it with how well he handled everything! Place was clean and the cashier Ben was super helpful! Tasted great too. Overall great experience. I don’t even like coleslaw but it’s fire here
This spot has become my go-to between classes. The atmosphere and service aren’t anything special, but since it’s a fast food place, that’s not really important. What really matters is the food, and it’s genuinely delicious. If you like spicy dishes, you definitely shouldn’t miss this place. Quick, flavorful, and always hits the spot
