TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I have been waiting to try Daves Hot chicken for a while now and my wife finally wanted it as well. My first impression was mixed, Super neat and clean and bright. Came here for a late lunch on the weekend. We were greeted immediately upon entry. The menu was thankful not overwhelming. Our cashier (Alex) was genuinely friendly. Our food came out faster than anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful the food was. The seasoning on everything was perfect. I took my daughters here for a lunch date. We enjoyed the hospitality of the food servers and also the chicken tenders. We ordered the Dave's #1 lite mild with fries for each of us. I loved how juicy and flavorful the food was, my fries were the perfect crisp. My oldest daughter is a hot chicken connoisseur and Dave's is her favorite place to go. The pricing is on the higher side compared to other fast food places but...you really do get what you pay for. We will definitely be returning soon.

I had high expectations for this place but it was just ok in my opinion. My son had the lite mild chicken and I had the lite mild cauliflower nuggets. Both just ok. The fries were great and the mac and cheese was good. They have a nice size dining area and kept very clean. The best for me was the service at the counter. I didn't get her name but she was super friendly and helpful!

Interesting. It was my first visit to a Dave's hot chicken. The young lady at the counter was great and I went with her recommendation and the food was tasty. Not exactly my thing so I won't be back but tasty and excellent service regardless.
