TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

This is the real deal if you are looking for some really delicious hot chicken. Having eaten the real Nashville hot chicken hundreds of times, I was pretty skeptical about trying a chain outside of Nashville. While the service was very average, and the cleanliness of the restaurant could be greatly improved on, the chicken was delicious. For those that are familiar with Nashville, hot chicken, if you want the equivalent of a medium, get the hot here. Okay Okay okay....everybody is hyped over this Nashville Hot Chicken thing. I get it. What i don't get is all the rave about Dave's. Did i like it?... yeah it was cool. Did i like it where i can't wait to go back?....naw.. Don't get me wrong it was tasty. I liked this two-strip meal w/ medium heat intensity. The fries & pickles were perfectly made & nicely crispy/crunchy. Satisfied my appetite for the entire rest of the day! Though I suppose I could've split it into two portions, as I tend to do nowadays.
Across the street from the Apollo and busy. 20 people can sit inside. The spice does not make you sweat but it’s a hot feeling! Medium is spicy enough even with 2 packets of honey and special sauce! You can share the slider entree with crinkle fries it’s so filling. Doesn’t come with a drink. The spice is curry-esque, even if you don’t like curry you will like this!
Definitely impressed & much better than Canes! I had the hot which wasn't that hot or spicy but it was a nice sweet & semi hot flavor.
