I went to check out the opening of the new Dave's Hot Chicken in East Brunswick, and it was a pretty good experience. I love the bright, colorful, graffiti art inside and outside the restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food came out quick. I got a Dave's #4, medium heat, with cheese. It came with a chicken slider, fries, pickles, and extra sauce. Update: I reached out to Dave's as suggested in a reply to me. I left my information and got a text from a gentleman, Jorge, who asked me to send him a photo of my receipt. Next text was an offer to send me a $10 coupon to use at a future visit. I politely declined and asked for my money back. No reply. I followed up and no reply.

I decided a while ago I would limit my negative reviews till I came across a place that truly deserves one...Dave's Hot Chicken truly deserves one. I had never eaten here before, but passed it many times since it opened. I decided earlier today to try it out and even looked up online their menu and registered for thier rewards club. Sorry but I don't know how the hell this place gets businesses because this food is horrible it's nothing but pure seasoning the breading is hard the coleslaw is horrible customer service was fine though!

Food was pretty mediocre, and the chicken itself is bland without the hotness. The spice level thing is a cool gimmick, but the chicken itself is very plain. With a side they give plain white bread that is super lightly toasted and French fries that are hot oil tasteless strips. Atmosphere is nice with the graffiti art and popular in 60s/70s rock and roll. Service is good and fairly fast like a 15 min wait. Overall, not worth it.

Not a fan. This is a Cane's chicken "wannabe ". We were there at 4:30, the only customers at the time. I ordered 10 tenders, cashier heard me wrong and gave me 10 sliders. In fairness, she offered to change them ( and the music was so loud she probably had trouble hearing me). Unfortunately, we were getting pretty impatient, and just couldn't wait for her to change it. The chicken was really bad ! my spicy chicken tasted sweet/ over seasoned in the wrong ways. The restaurant was absolutely disgusting. All the tables still had food on them from previous customers.

INSTANT Diarrhea! The chicken I ate yesterday was so gross I threw most of it out. It was inedible. The chicken was 0 out 10! It gave me a sickness I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. My friend also had it for the first time and he said..... "Heard the hype. Not impressed. I disliked it the more I ate it. Just when I thought I was satisfied with the meal this chicken made me want to kill myself. Hard pass going back. Serve something grilled at least"
