My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant for the first time, but that excitement ended quickly. The star of the menu, the chicken, was awful. I had light and he had medium and both were so bitter they made us nauseous. In my opinion it tasted heavy in cumin. The only thing that helped was the dipping sauce included that had a bit of sweetness to it. What we did enjoy was the Mac and cheese and fries. This is consistently the slowest "fast food" places I have ever been to. What do I mean by slow? We have been here 5 or 6 times since they have opened and never gotten our order in under 10 minutes. We have gotten to the point of ordering online for pickup and ariive 5 minutes after the order is supposed to be ready and still have to wait for the order. Great fries, lousy chicken! Soggy small and not worth going for fries. Service was good, place was clean. Overall I would have given a 2 if not for fries!

Chicken was overcooked and dry. Seasonings and rub added dry to the sandwich after it was cooked. It seems to me that you would add seasonings/rub prior to cooking. Admittedly, I'm not that familiar with "hot chicken" but if that's how it's prepared, I'm not a fan and won't be back. There's better chicken options out there.

Went once, Overpriced. Drinks don't come with a meal. Was $24 for 2 meals and we decided not to add another $6 on drinks. And, there is a tip prompt when you pay but they don't do anything extra for tips- you order and pick up at the counter. Rather go across the street and get Canes.

i've tried the daves hot in denver but since i live by this one i decided to go. it wasn't good the chicken was the only good part but they barely put any coleslaw on the sliders the sauce didn't have any taste and the mac n cheese was so flavorless like fr it was like milk worth noodles i don't know why this dave's hot is like that maybe it was the cook or something

Dave's Hot Chicken is new in Highlands Ranch within the past few weeks. We decided to give it a try; a rather poor idea. Service was mixed. We were called to the counter when our food was not even close to ready. The manager (owner?) took care of us very well after that mix-up; one star on the mix-up, five stars on the recovery. The place was packed and the service was ok. We placed 3 orders to go. 2 of the 3 orders were incorrect. The food was just ok, especially for the price. Over $40 with no drinks. Probably won't be back. Not nearly as good as Raising Canes.
