Hamilton, New Jersey has been waiting for salvation, or at least for something new to eat. For weeks, cars have lined up in the shoulder of Route 33 like pilgrims on a fried chicken crusade, all of them seeking enlightenment in a red and yellow shrine called Dave's Hot Chicken. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! This was my first time here and I will be running back if it continues to stay this good. I ordered on the mobile app and picked up in the restaurant. You must go up to the counter and give your name to be handed your Togo bag. They have plastic ware and napkins available to grab if you need more, though in the app you can mark it off that you want some with your order. I'm not quite at a 4 for Dave's. With 2 other similar options nearby, I'd rank this as #2 out of 3. But the high visibility location on rt 33 will make this a popular spot and I'll eventually revisit. I got here before the lunch rush at around 11:30, they were already doing a good amount of business but it wasn't too bad, my wait for takeout was about 6 minutes. They should rename this place Dave's WTF SO HOTT EVEN HOT THE NEXT MORNING HOT Chicken. I loveee spicy but I was not prepared. They have several levels of spice and I chose "hot" because I have always loved spicy food. *sighs in regret* There were 2 hotter levels than what I picked and I'm sure I would have been hospitalized if I picked "reaper" the hottest level. The food at this location wasn't great compared to the East Brunswick location I've had. The fries I got here were soggy and the chicken tasted off. Wasn't worth the long wait.
