I really wanted to share with you the experience that my family had with the wonderful Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, over the past month. My 87 year-old mother suffered a horrible fall, with resulting severe concussion/head injury, broken vertebrae & pressure hydrocephalus. My family member was recently a patient at Healthsouth Rehab in Fayetteville. Most of the staff were very caring and did a good job given their heavy workload. We did experience several problems which caused stress and major sleep problems for our patient. The first was often having to wait for help to arrive--many times from 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours. PT and nursing are wonderful. The 'doctors' are scary stupid. But then they're associated with Cleveland Clinic South, which is also a show.

My dad was moved to Encompass in Stuart, FL after being diagnosed with Guillaine Barre syndrome and basically being paralyzed from the shoulders down. They accepted him knowing his prognosis and that the disease can take 6 months to a year for real improvement. They have amazing physical PT and OT services and facilities and we were hopeful they would get him on his way to healing. I had a cerebral hemorrhage 24 years ago which left me with my left side paralyzed. I was having issues dropping to the floor my husband took me to the ER at Martin Medical Center where they ran tests found I had a UTI and strongly suggested I go to rehab to improve my gait, My husband convinced me I should try it off we went to ENCOMPASS HEALTH, I brought my own meds with me as I am very sensitive to medications and must keep my BP low as per my neurosurgeons. Please be careful!!! I checked in for rehab following a surgery at a hospital out of town. Now after 24 hours, I have a fever!!!!!!!!!
