We moved in January, and needed some "extra space" to help us get settled into a smaller house. It was so much easier to just store some things for awhile. As I started searching, and reading reviews, I found the Auburn facility was big and clean and reasonably priced. Plus, so convenient to move into, because I could set it all up online. This place was family-owned when we first rented a unit to store our stuff when we moved out of the area. It was incredibly tidy and well-maintained, and we knew our stuff was safe. Then Extra Space Storage acquired the business, and we thought, "Oh-oh. Big corporation acquires small family-run outfit; things are going to change." Josh at Extra Space storage went above and beyond to help us. Excellent Customer service and satisfaction. He really went the extra mile to help us understand our options and provided great tips! I really appreciated his knowledge and feel confident in storing my treasures with Extra Space!

I have 2 storage spaces and each time I talked to Josh. He was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and professional. If he couldn't get a storage space on his property, he made sure I got one on another of his properties. He made our transition very smooth and easy. Thank you!

On Friday, December 19, 2025 @ 10:41a.m. is the second time I called the store to respond or talk about my online review, in which I was unable to connect to the store or anyone because my account and cell number is now invalid. Again, more lies and deceptions about doing what's right or to correct issues customers may have or had with their account or issues with their storage, or customer service. I had my Extra Space unit a little over 1 year, in which when signed up at the online price, I had issues obtaining the online quote. I eventually got the online quote but the cost increased significantly after a year due to being told the area was in high demand (which seems to be their regular justification) in which it went from $112.60 in 2024, to $129.20 in March 2025, to $155.60 again in March 2025, and again to $186.60 in December 2025. Originally I was paying $57.00 A month they raised it to 75.05 Total Due monthly no tax no monthly insurance rate then it went up to $79.00 a difference of $22.00. You do the math?

Extra Space Storage is a total scheme! Not only did the cost of my unit TRIPLE in two years, many items were ruined do to crappy roofing/severe water damage and serious rodent infestation.

Absolutely the rudest man on the phone today. Couldn't even hide the snideness of his demeanor if he wanted to. They raised my rent from $75 to $100 to $140 since taking over. A 40% increase is ridiculous. If the man had not been so blatantly flippant and rude I may have put up with it longer because the hours and location are convenient but their customer service sucks!
