I had my breast augmentation yesterday (Friday 5/15) with Dr. Gayoso. I chose around 350 cc responsive silicone implants, under the muscle (dual plane). I ended up with 325 on one side and I think around 350 on the other side, since my breasts were a bit asymmetrical prior to surgery. I don't remember the exact size of the larger one since I was still pretty groggy when I talked to the doctor after surgery. I will get the full details at my first post-op next week.
Dr. Gayoso and everyone in his office have been amazing. Whenever I had questions (and I had A LOT), both his nurses and Dr. Gayoso himself were always willing to take the time to talk to me. It's been pretty crazy with the pandemic and not knowing if the surgery would still be able to happen, but they have been really great about communicating with me the whole time and have been really accommodating throughout the whole process. Elective surgeries were started up here again on the 11th, so I lucked out and was able to have my surgery as scheduled.
Pre-surgery I was around a full B cup, and I'm aiming to be a D cup, which is what I was before having kids. I'm 38 years old, 5'6" and around 140 pounds currently. I have 2 kids and both were breastfed for 2+ years. Once I stopped nursing and dropped some more weight, my boobs ended up just kind of empty looking and deflated. They weren't terrible but I missed the way they used to look and how they filled out my clothes. I've thought about having a boob job since then (about 6 years so) but late last year I finally decided to take the plunge. Luckily I did not need a lift, so I just did the implants.
I was really nervous going into the surgery center yesterday, but the nurses and doctors did a great job of putting me at ease. So far the recovery has been pretty much what I was expecting. I'm very sore and everything feels tight. The only thing that has been a surprise is how sore I am around my rib cage. When I have to get up it's pretty painful, it kind of feels like a ripping or burning sensation under my boobs, around where my incision is. Not sure if it's the incision itself that hurts or where the muscle and everything was cut underneath. Probably a little bit of both. I'm taking pain meds every four hours and just started on ibuprofen this afternoon. I'm hoping I can begin weaning off the prescription painkillers tomorrow and just go to ibuprofen and Tylenol.
So far I'm really happy with the results, but I can't really tell what they look like very much yet since they're pretty swollen and tight. I can't wait to see the final result. I was worried they'd be too big, but I don't think that is going to be the case at all. I don't have many "after" pics yet since I can't really take this bra off, but I will update later once I have some more.
