Before wasting your time, read this Brother ADS-3000N. Before wasting your time buying this unit then boxing it up to ship it back just try this. Go to the Brother website and download the software to run this piece of junk. Brother runs like 5+ websites so find the right site AND then find the 300mb file and start there. All Brother does is point you to there iPrint&Scan iphone app software which is ok but that won't program the 3 buttons on the front of this machine. Excellent Speed & Scan Quality, But Horrible Software & Network Setup Defeats Purpose of Machine I just received this machine yesterday. Initial setup was relatively simply, both from a Mac and from a Win VM machine. Scan quality and speed are excellent. But button presets and network share points are, at least in my experience, a 2 or 3 wine bottle source of misery. Engineering mistakes all over this thing, it's useless The media could not be loaded. This is supposed to be a fast double-sided scanner for "workgroups" is what they call them. Meaning multiple people. I'm just one person having the toughest time scanning anything right now. It keeps failing every 3 pages saying there's a paper jam. There is none. It won't clear the error unless you open the unit's face, remove all papers from the ADF (not a jam, not inside the scan unit, just the regular spot where you place papers to have... read more

and after the paper jam was removed it would continue to Beep like it had a paper jam after every scan This is an outstanding scanner. Very fast, a little noisy. I purchased two of these and returned both of them. One had a paper jam, and after the paper jam was removed it would continue to Beep like it had a paper jam after every scan. ADS3000n is not good compared to ADS3600w, but better than Fujitsu ix500 Bad. ADS3600w is 5 star in comparison.
No wireless connectivity; lame setup instructions; NO SCANNING functionality. NOTE: This device does not have wireless connectivity, so if you're wanting that, keep looking. However, with the volume and speed it's going for, I don't think wireless is a good option, and the hard wire makes perfect sense, so I wouldn't hold that as a count against it. 1) The setup on this machine has been seriously problematic. When it comes to magazines, some might call me a hoarder I prefer to consider myself as a collector. Its not that I think of them as collectable objects, but I just can't bear to throw away many of the articles. I finally decided that the best thing would be for me to scan and save the articles that I want to keep, then simply shred and recycle the magazines themselves.
