I enrolled my 2 dogs (American Staffordshire Terriers) in a month long intensive training at instinct and sessions with their "dog behaviorist". After 2 and a half weeks of getting raving reports and videos of their progress Instinct abruptly cancelled and expelled the dogs from the school saying they are beyond help and can not be trained. Im really unhappy with what I received for the massive amount of money they asked for. I had two huskies that needed some behavioral work and one needing work on his submissive behavior. Firstly all they did for three weeks was teach them to sit more on command and have them walk a little slower when on leash. Which the walking is good. However nothing else was done. My previous review is gone for some reason, so I'm re-writing it: I was a long-term client of Instinct and friendly with the owners, and even recommended others to this business, but I regret it. As another professional trainer put it, "They might have ruined your dog." I sent my service dog in-training to board-and-train to gain new skills and exposure in what I thought was a positive-reinforcement only facility. I was a fan for years before I sent my new dog to training camp with them. They used negative reinforcement without my knowledge/consent and un-did a lot of progress I'd made, then back-tracked on promises and lied about what had happened. There were warning signs, but I was a long-term client (since 2010) and thought I must be confused, but I should have listened to my gut. I would have given a lesser rating but it wasn't available, in addition, I'm no longer following nor "Like"ing Review Instinct Dog Behavior & Training LLC nor reacting to any of their posts on Facebook except to block them.
