I like my filets "blue" and it is often difficult for chefs to cook them that way. They "nailed" it.
Elegant restaurant. Great service. Extremely pricey salads and sides! $11 bucks for a small side of mashed potatoes. Who does that? It's said they used a Brazilian style grill (parrilla? In Spanish) to cook the meats - let me say the charcoal flavor was not there! I'm bit disappointed. The wine list was good, but their most affordable red wine started roughly at $70 bucks. Have been back a few times due to exceptional service and food. One of my favorite place to to go for fine dining.
Joseph was great! Ask for him. Food excellent! We had a wonderful evening in the perfect atmosphere.
This was my first time at J Prime, and it will not be my last. Though usually a fan of Bohanan’s, I am thrilled to have found a premium steakhouse of equal caliber that doesn’t require a trip downtown. Interesting that the handicap parking was further away than the valet...it was a nice restraunt and we had a very good evening. Having said that, the highlight was the appetizers which surpasses most locations warm bread and butter. The steaks were cooked nicely and very flavorful, but lacked the succulent moist and tenderness one would expect at the price. We love J-Prime for a fantastic steak dinner but felt their brunch was a little overpriced to be such an average buffet. Even with the reservation, we had a 20 minute wait for them to set up the buffet. Once we were seated, the service was fantastic! Their wait-staff always does a wonderful job and will definitely go back for dinner!
