Dr. Kaufman was extremely informative and helpful when I contacted him for a second opinion for potential cervical spine surgery. He spent as much time with me as I wanted to insure that I was well informed about the condition of my neck, and the choices I had for the way forward. He was able to discuss the MRI findings and implications on an elementary level and an expert level to adequately inform my family of treatment potential.
I saw him at the hospital once. He was very cordial. He gave me a prescription and told me that upon my return home he will send me a therapist. . For 4 days I left messages but I had no replies. On the 4th day I received an email that the secretary was out of town and could not receive messages. I was surprised that a doctor practicing in 3 hospitals does not have a contact 4 days. Next Wednesday I have an appointment with Dr. J. Kaufman. Today is Monday and since last Thursday I left voice messages and emails to Diane and still i have no courtesies replies with an address where I go for the visit. Very unprofessional, irresponsible and careless. Now I have to search for another doctor.
This guy is a menace. He over prescribes pain meds. Recommends unnecessary and dangerous procedures. The day of my surgery i was told my insurance had not approved my surgery because the facility was not accepted. When i asked about doing it ar the hospital i was told Kaufman didnt have surgical privileges anywhere else. Thos guy moves is office and changes staff frequently. He has been disqualified by workers comp for all the above reasons. He disappeared for 3 months. Beware of this guy!!!
I was told 3 times my insurance was accepted, only to get billed twice because it was NOT! I waited over one and one half hours in the exam room both visits! Both times I could hear conversations and much laughter outside the room. Totally unacceptable!!! Both times no one else was even in waiting room! I called the only hospital Dr.Kaufman uses to ask insurance questions. I was told they only handle accounts receivable and would not give me billing office #. Didn't pay to hear about family!
