Dr. Lin took a measured approach to my trigger thumb issue and when it became apparent that surgery was needed, he was able to do the procedure quickly and with little pain (just the sting of the numbing shot). No stitches were needed and the release was immediate. I would highly recommend him.

I received prompt, professional care. Dr. Lin was very knowledgeable about my hand condition & had sound advice on how to proceed.

Sometimes surgeons are accused of being “ a hammer in search of a nail”. Not Dr. Lin who counseled a conservative approach, in several steps and stages, before he would recommend surgery.

Dr. Lin was wonderful. I got a splinter in my finger that tapped a nerve. I pulled out some, but not all of it. The ER couldn't find anything and my doctor couldn't either. They both said there was nothing there. But I was in so much pain. I couldn't bend my finger or apply pressure without pain. Dr. Lin is the only one who listened to me. He checked with an ultrasound (like the ER) and found a large piece of splinter in my finger. Outpatient surgery he actually pulled out 2 splinters (one that was wishbone shaped and then a... read more

I was referred to Dr. Lin for a trigger finger. The entire procedure took less than five minutes. With anesthesia, there was no discomfort. I’ll admit to an incredible fascination. Can they really do this? How was this ever discovered in the first place? Dr. Lin was able to tell me this procedure has been around for about fifteen years, and claimed to have improved it with his personal tinkering. Older treatments for trigger finger were more invasive and difficult. About eight hours after this surgery, I started typing this ... read more

Dr Lin is “hands down” ?? THE BEST hand surgeon and I’m grateful he fixed my hand. I was very hurt and worried I wouldn’t be able to ever use my thumb again. He helped me. In orthopedics there’s carpenters, trades craft folk and artist/jewelers (so to speak). He’s a jeweler-a true artist. And as a photographer, (yes those ARE his photos on the office walls) you can see the eye of an artist, the dedicated attention to detail and the compositional care. These characteristics transfer to surgery. A person brings the whole of th... read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Lin, his staff and MontereyJoint and Spine. Everyone was kind and very efficient. I had a trigger finger corrected by Dr. Lin on my first visit with an in-office procedure and went directly back to work after the appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Lin to anyone with a hand issue. In fact, I have already recommended four people already! Thank you Dr. Lin!!
