For years now, my kids have been patients of Dr. Lowry. He's awesome! He is very witty and has a way of getting them to understand things by asking specialized questions.
Dr. Lowry is very thorough, professional, and kind. He's the only psychiatrist I've had who asked about my mental and physical health, as well as sleep and exercise. He is very friendly and easy to talk to as well.
I am not sure I have the same doctor as the rest of the people who have commented. Dr. Lowry was engaging, kind and witty with my 9 year old as well as us as parents. He did have to steer us in the right direction and not have me, mom answer questions for my son. There is nothing wrong with that, it is called managing people. He was SOOOOO thorough! He also answered all of our questions. I absolutely loved him and so did my son. We are working with him now on my son's ADHD issues and he is really on top of it. Love him!!!

Dr. John Lowry is extremely condescending, rude, and disrespectful. He spent most of the time being argumentative, and combative. I was looking for a good, kind soul to help me, not such an authoritarian and disrespectful human. He suggested I find two psychiatrists because he wasn’t willing to prescribe one of my medications. So, according to him, the 'extra psychiatrist' would prescribe me the one medication he wasn't willing to prescribe. I highly doubt the insurance company would allow that.
Dr is kind and professional but the process on medication and communication through front office is slow and erroneous.
Well, I was looking for a Psychiatrist for my Autistic son. I had called and booked an appt with Dr. Lowry. I called early to pay the co-pay and the office personnel gave me a 2 zoom links. Neither of the zoom links worked. I called the office again to get help and let them know that the links did not work. The staff refused to help me saying that they didn't know how to work the link DUH! What good are they! and why should Dr. Lowry get paid for a SCREW UP with his office staff! Does minimum required. • if you do something wrong (or tell him about something he doesn’t want you thinking) he has a weird tendency to say “remember that’s wrong!” Even if you make it clear you knew it was wrong - it’s annoying and somewhat condescending • I actually appreciate his brevity but I don’t appreciate him leaving out all medication and just choosing one for a patient right away without explaining other options I really only suggest him if you’re desperate, then find someone more helpful ASAP after you’re somewha... read more
He is rude, crude and has no clue as to what he is doing. Our child got worse not better due to his lack of care and cluelessness. He also cares about only charging you for the visit despite not doing what he is suppose to do which is care for the patient . Stay aware from this guy. He is the worst of the worst.
