Dr Vandersteen has been amazing! He performed my endoscopy and my follow up. Both went well. I appreciate that De Vandersteen is experienced and communicates really well. He heard what I had to say and asked for my preferences and is willing to help me how I feel is best. He validates and is sincere.

Had my first appt with Dr. Vandersteen today and I feel hopeful. After getting brushed off by other doctors for years I feel like someone finally listened and is willing to get to the bottom of my problems and then follow through with helping me treat the root issues. Can’t wait for answers!

Wait time was minimal, all the staff was amazing and DR V came in after the procedure and explained everything he found. He was professional, courteous and direct. I appreciate that. ALSO love that there was no "waiting to fart" before we could leave and was not groggy as hell for hours! I highly recommend Dr Vandersteen.

Ever want to know what a car being built on an assembly line feels like?Look no further!I guess it might be okay if you don't have any issues... If you do though, don't expect any help from him at all. He's too busy on the next 'car' to interact with you. He won't take a phone call -- to the extent that the nurse is chasing him around asking him, and he still won't get on the phone. From all appearances he has only 25 seconds to interact with each 'car'. Problems brought up in that 25 seconds are ignored, as are all other prob... read more

Dr. Vandersteen performed a scope to discover the source of my GERD. He was nice and it was straightforward… until I needed a refill. Without notification, he decreased the dosage on my medication, which caused my GERD to soar. He fixed the dosage after I contacted him, but when it came time for a new refill, I scheduled a new follow-up and requested the refill from the office. They never passed that on to the doctor, so I called again and the assistant told me they’d let me know. They never did and after calling again to fi... read more

No follow-up or professional care following complications after a colonoscopy. Called their office the morning after the procedure to report problems. The assistant suggested some over-the-counter meds and to call later if still having problems. Called in the afternoon to find out their office had closed at noon. Suffered with problems all weekend, with the only remedy to go to urgent care or the ER. Called back Monday morning, reported the issues to an assistant. No call back. Had to call again Tuesday, only to be told they... read more

After my colonoscopy the curtain slid open, Dr Vandersteen said, "you have cancer." I was in shock. He said again as he handed me a picture of my cancer, "you have cancer, will need surgery and some chemo." He left and slid the curtain closed. Next day after my family finally stopped crying, I was told that there was no cancer in the biopsy. Asked for a referral to a specialist in Salt Lake City, he never responded. Look around, and always get a second opinion.
