I had the spacious room to myself and got mcuh work done in thhis quiet place. Also used the business office area for printing. No problems! Close to Village Seafood and Domino's Pizza for delivery. Pool is adequate.

Midnight Door Slams
Pros: The Staff and the Coffee
Cons: The Slamming Doors all thru the night
Location: Across the bridge and down the road from the Kemah Boardwalk on Nasa 1 Road
Staff was great BUT the opportunity to SLEEP was interrupted EVERY NIGHT of our 3 night stay except for the last when both my wife and I donned Ear Plugs to keep from being awakened by SLAMMING DOORS (at 1 & 2 a.m.) The heavy doors keep out NONE of the hallway sounds and when left to close on their own will rattle the walls of all the rooms around.
The breakfast was okay ... nothing great but okay.
My wife and I will find somewhere else to stay on our next family visit to the Kemah area--despite the friendly staff we encountered!

Normally I travel with people around me--husband, friends, kids, etc. This time I was by myself. The room I had at the La Quinta was more than adequate for me--a very comfortable king-sized bed, a desk and a sitting area with a couch (folds out to another bed), 2 chairs, a couple of little tables....in other words, lots of room and options for moving around. The bathroom was very clean, towels were big and fluffy (doesn't always happen in mid-range priced hotels). The pool area was clean when I sat out there. I used the guest laundry--there are 2 washers and 2 dryers (although one of them was broken at the time I used the room, but this did not affect me, since I was the only person using this room). Free breakfast was adequate, but no great shakes. It's free and it's there and I was grateful for that. There was yogurt, eggs, bagels, make your own waffles (one of the waffle irons made waffles in the shape of Texas--too cool!), breakfast breads. The front desk folks were friendly. A other reviewers have mentioned, the location is close to Kemah and NASA, both fun places to visit. I watched the sailboats in the water across from the hotel. My only complaint is that when people were in the hallway outside the room, it sounded like they could be coming in--so guests should be kind and be quiet in the hallways or doors should be soundproofed. This didn't happen too often, but when it did, I was surprised every time. I would stay here again--and with my family or friends!

Pleasant All Around
Our stay was extremely pleasant all around. Clean, friendly, conveniently located, and it included a nice breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the NASA/Clear Lake Area.

We stayed here during spring break in order to visit the NASA Johnson Space Center. It was clean and in overall good shape. We saw the owner picking up litter and generally tidying up the property. The breakfast was very well stocked and was replenished frequently. The only semi-downside was the desk person upon arrival. We had asked for a rollaway bed. She told us that she had given them all away. Then she became flustered and eventually put us in a king room with a sofa bed, which worked out perfectly. The sofa bed was brand new. So in spite of herself, she solved the problem. It is close to NASA and Kemah. Try the nearby pub called Boondoggles for a wide selection of beers and good casual food in a fun atmosphere.

Overall, this hotel is just your basic, average hotel: bed, bath, pool. BUT, every afternoon, there are freshly-baked cookies and lemonade available in the lobby! Plus, they offer some snacks - Reeses' Pieces, Chex mix, and Jelly Bellies, with little cups to take back to your room. The free breakfast is good, but not great: fresh waffle maker, some breakfast meats, yogurts, etc.
We only ran into one snag, and it's totally not the hotel's fault. We booked the room on Travelocity, and booked a handicap-accessible "suite." The picture on Travelocity's site showed an in-room spa tub, which was our reason for booking. HOWEVER, when we got to our room, no tub! On checking back at the desk, we were told that the hotel only sells a certain number of rooms to Travelocity, and the spa-tub rooms were not included. Short of paying another $40 per night, we were tubless. The hotel staff were very nice about it, but firm.
Other than this glitch, we had a nice stay - we needed to have a room to sleep in at night, but we didn't go there to "live" in the room. La Quinta worked fine for us.

Stay again
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good breakfast, loved the cookies in the afternoon and the lemon water during the day. The pillows and mattresses were very comfortable.

La Quinta near Kemah
Location: Great location not far from the Kemah Boardwalk and NASA. Easy access to both locations.
Quick check-in and check-out. No problems during stay.

Clean, Friendly & close to Kemah boardwalk
Pros: Clean room, Friendly prompt staff
Location: Close (driving distance) to Kemah boardwalk and space center
Wife, 2 kids & I stayed in King w/ pullout sofa for our trip to Kemah, TX. The Friendly staff welcomed us, and we quickly had our key. The most important quality to a hotel for us is cleanliness, and we were very happy with the condition of the room. We made a couple of requests for towels, shampoo etc. and staff was prompt and courteous. King bed was very comfortable, and my son said the pull-out sofa was comfortable....I took his wood for it :) The complimentary full breakfast bar had something for everyone including fresh belgium waffles (The kids loved the Texas shaped). I have a lot more money on lower quality rooms. We will definately stay here again.
