No substitute for the real thing I tried going the alternative route with generic replacements and re-filled cartridges. Always ends in aggravation and wasted money when my printer won't recognize them and/or they make a mess. Buying the genuine Brother brand refills always results in perfect printer performance. I get a good price shopping on Amazon and I save a ton of headaches.
