This was my first doctor's visit in the US after 10 years overseas where i've had emergency surgeries that have developed chronic and serious aftereffects. Dr. Ali exceeded all my expectations (being the US I expected a brusque and quick appointment.) Dr. Ali was incredibly thorough on recording my complex medical background and answered all my questions. I learned much about my medical situation and what can be done for it. He never rushed me and he was incredibly thorough, concerned and kind.
As a longtime patient of Dr. Ali I followed him to his new practice at Capital Digestive Care in Chevy Chase. Dr. Ali is genuinely interested in my welfare and takes the time to listen to my concerns, educate me about personal health matters, and communicate near- and longer-term priorities. Dr. Ali is an excellent caregiver and health manager. I am glad to know him.
Dr. Ali has been providing my care for over 10 years. He is the epitome of what every doctor should be when providing care. He is truly a caring, compassionate and outstanding, and intelligent gastroenterologist!!

Dr. Ali was extremely knowledgeable, patient and not at all condescending. He listened to all that was going on with me unlike the other doctor I had seen there who was extremely rude. I'm glad I didn't move to another practice just because of one bad experience.
First visit went well. He was thorough, friendly and informative. He provided reasons for his recommendations.
I have been a patient with Dr. Ali for more than six years, and he has won my trust. Rather than rush to do this and that invasive procedure, he considers and explains the benefits against the risks, in light of symptoms and medical history, to help me make a decision that makes the most sense. He is patient and clear – and takes the time to answer all of my questions. He is also very responsive by phone and email, which helped me several times make better decisions between appointments.
I’ve known Dr Ali more than 10 years and I would not trade him for anyone. He is old fashioned in that he sits down and talks with you. I have an unusual condition that makes me anxious. Thankfully, long ago he gently urged me to do yoga and meditate. He can remember the tiniest details of my case. I have stuck with Dr Ali from private practice into a university hospital setting and back. I treasure his expertise. He sets the standard for the highest level of care.
Dr. Ali Excellent doctor!!! Very caring, friendly, and professional all in one. He provided and treated me with the up most respect and I cannot think of anything he would not do for me while in his care. He was there for my appointments and listened to me and provided the treatment that was needed to solve the problems. I needed to be approved by my insurance for a medication to treat an issue I was dealing with and as of today I’m getting treated. I give Dr. Ali recommendation and will miss u.
