Dr. Ali is the rare combination of skill, knowledge, experience and compassion. From the moment I first met him, I felt relaxed and in the best possible hands. This isn’t an easy way to feel when you realize you are facing a colonoscopy, a procedure that makes most of us more than a little anxious. Now, having just had the procedure, I can attest that my quickly positive reaction to him was totally confirmed. I highly recommend Dr. Ali.
Dr. Ali is a very caring, patient and excellent gastroenterology. He meets with you after your procedure and performs a phone follow-up after a few days to ensure everything is well. He is thorough in his work and his gentle too. I highly recommend him for any digestive/esophagus issues you may have.
I have been going to Dr. Ali for over 10 years. He has always been very patient, kind, informative, and very knowledgeable when speaking with me as a patient. He takes whatever time is necessary to explain everything to me in great detail and always uses layman’s terms so that I fully understand what he is saying. I had my first visit with Dr Ali recently. I felt he was caring and thoughtful.
This was my first doctor's visit in the US after 10 years overseas where i've had emergency surgeries that have developed chronic and serious aftereffects. Dr. Ali exceeded all my expectations (being the US I expected a brusque and quick appointment.) Dr. Ali was incredibly thorough on recording my complex medical background and answered all my questions. I learned much about my medical situation and what can be done for it. He never rushed me and he was incredibly thorough, concerned and kind.
As a longtime patient of Dr. Ali I followed him to his new practice at Capital Digestive Care in Chevy Chase. Dr. Ali is genuinely interested in my welfare and takes the time to listen to my concerns, educate me about personal health matters, and communicate near- and longer-term priorities. Dr. Ali is an excellent caregiver and health manager. I am glad to know him.

Dr. Ali was extremely knowledgeable, patient and not at all condescending. He listened to all that was going on with me unlike the other doctor I had seen there who was extremely rude. I'm glad I didn't move to another practice just because of one bad experience.
