I was pleased with the service at the time I saw Dr. Sandstede in October of 2017. However, I just tried to order my dogs heart worm medication and Manzano Animal Clinic is refusing to authorize a refill. I have had dogs for over 25 years and every single time, without fail, that I took my dogs for their annual physical examination and vaccinations, I have received a one year prescription for heart worm pills. I cannot say enough kind words about the staff here. They have cared for our sweet Vinny since we moved to Albuquerque, and when the time came to let our sweet boy go, they treated him and us with kindness, love, and respect. We will be eternally grateful for their service and for always treating our good boy so well until the very end. Thank you!
The staff is caring and knows my babies by name and sight. The facility is clean and welcoming. The doctors are straight with you which is a huge plus for me. Finally, my dog doesn't hate going there!

Friendly and competent staff. Convenient location for us at least. They're our resource through multiple generations of pets. Interesting on-line pet care options now. Slightly concerned about inevitable corporate influences most metro veterinarian offices have, but don't see it so much here.
We've only used Manzano for our Akitas' care since we moved here in 1993. Akitas can be difficult, but the entire staff has taken excellent care of all of them. I still tear up thinking about when we had to put Gus to sleep. They scheduled a time after hours so they wouldn't have other dogs/cats in the waiting area. The entire staff was gathered in the waiting room to say goodbye to him. That's going beyond any expectation.

I've done many reviews of Manzano before, but where they ended up I don't know! I've been going there since it was a "one-horse" clinic, in 1975, with my first kitty. Now, many kitties later, I have trained many vets (kidding), but my history includes receptionists Dee, Suzanne, Michelle of the old days, Dr Rollag, Drs Jackson, Coons, Southwick, Whaley (I think her first challenge was spending the night saving my new pound kitty's life - she earned the privilege of becoming our "primary care" cat-ician).
