Mediterranean food - that's it - really good, not fancy
Hillsborough St. across from NC State Univ - and they are open with both inside and outdoors seating as we wait hopefully for the end of covid-19. There is a serving bar much like a cafeteria, and the servers put in your bowl/wrap/pita what you request. (The bowl is, I think, a bit larger than what you get in a wrap and they include some pita, the half-pita with stuff in it is the smallest serving. Lots and lots of choices of what is the base (greens/grain/rice - either white or brown), the protein (falafel/chicken/steak/kefta/lamb-at-extra-cost. Then come the toppings - perhaps 30 of them, choose which you want - and sauces, tzatziki/tahini and many more. Everything tastes very good. The bowl size can be a large lunch. Drinks, they have a number of drink dispensers, I like the mango - very sweet and tasty. Others include tea and other fruit combinations. They also have a number of bottled drinks. If you like Mediterranean food you'll enjoy this restaurant.

Not much to look at, but the inside is very pleasant and clean. There is a serving bar/table, much like a buffet but the servers put in your bowl/wrap/pita what you request. Lots and lots of choices of what is the base (greens/grain/rice), the protein (chicken/steak/lamb-at-extra-cost/and falafel. Then come the toppings - perhaps 30 of them, choose which you want - and sauces, tzatziki/tahini and many more. Everything tastes very good. The bowl size can be a large lunch. My Son brought a bowl with rice and other stuff with shredded lamb. The thing I like the most is Caramelized Eggplant. It was delicious. It is listed as only Eggplant in menu but it was fantastic. Quantity of the bowl was ok but it could be little more for a guy like me. I am ordering again today just for the Eggplant. Awesome !!!

hi mukhtar, we're so glad you enjoyed our caramelized eggplant! we totally suggest checking out our baba ganoush as well - we roast eggplant over an open flame and purée with our tahini dip, creating the perfect pair for our caramelized eggplant!

Great Mediterranean food. Won’t dissapoint
This is our first visit to Mezeh and we will definitely be back. The food is fresh and very tasty. You get a lot of choices and the portion size is generous.
We love Mediterranean food. This is the first Mediterranean bowl restaurant we have been to.
The dining room is very cool and inviting, with lots of seating for large or small parties. Patio seating as well.

My new chipolte!
Finally we see more Mediterranean options come down to this area!
Walking into this establishment reminds a bit of the deli's in NYC, seating is along the side, to the rear and even some seating available on a second level. I was impressed with the cleanliness as well as the carpet throughout the seating areas, I am certain this helps in maintaining a comfortable noise level while dining.
Similar to Chipolte, but many more options available. Besides the "build your own bowls", they also have pita pockets and wraps. My preference being the bowl and I was happy to see they offer brown basmati rice, much more flavorful! I felt a need to add a protein so I chose the chicken kebob and then to the toppings, there are so many and very unique. I tend to keep it simple so I chose the hummus, carrots, and corn, but they have plenty more to choose from. Top it all off with the lemon garlic sauce and a side of seasoned pita chips.
Everything was very flavorful, the pita chips are perfect to dip in the hummus while you eat and in my opinion this is a much healthier option. This is a great option for vegans and vegetarians, they offer falafel as a protein as well. I will return in the future and hope they open another location closer to me.

Really good falafel - not mushy, but with some crunchy particles and with terrific flavor. Then come the toppings - perhaps 30 of them, choose which you want - and sauces, tzatziki/tahini and many more. Everything tastes very good. The bowl size can be a large lunch.
