Just say no. Save yourself the hassle! The most ridiculously slow printer I’ve ever owned. Not only is it slow, but it turns itself off at random times. I wish I had returned it!
Goes offline and stays offline Without provocation or warning, Brother printers go "offline" and STAY "offline" no matter how many times you reboot, update, and reconnect the machines to the wifi. AVOID THESE ITEMS. I can't tell you how many times it's left me high and dry at a critical moment. (This is, I believe, the very first review I've written for Amazon. I just feel it's worth getting out to people NOT to buy these products.)
Too much trouble to use with my Apple computer. The Brother MFC-J775DW XL Extended Print INKvestment Compact Cooler Inkjet All-in-One Printer turned out to be a disappointment for me as an Apple user. It does not work with AirPrint. Instead, you have to download a special App to print from your phone. The App is not straightforward, because it requires access to other cloud based apps. One Star The printer is slow, I can't get it to stay in the online mode.
Will not stay connected to wireless. Cannot get this thing to stay connected to the wireless.
Do not buy if you have a Mac I have never written a review. However this printer was beyond a disappointment. It clearly is not made for Mac, regardless of what the troubleshooting say. Installing a new printer usually is very easy, and connecting via wireless painless. However, no matter what I did, I could not get my computer to even recognize the printer, and the printer did not want to connect to my computer. Brother has quickly become my go-to brand for printers, sewing machines, etc. This guy was a breeze to set up-- although the brother website was beyond difficult to use to find drivers-- other than that the setup was no more than a few minutes.
