When I began looking for a preschool for my then 3-year-old son, my brother recommended the Montessori American School. As soon as I stepped foot into the school, the warm welcome and smiles on everyone's faces made me feel at home. As a mom you only want the best for your children and at the Montessori you get it all. My son thrived at the school and was always eager to get to work on his favorite materials. He is now 6 and doing incredibly well in first grade at his new school. My 3-year-old daughter has just started at th... read more

I have so many things to say that I don't know where to start! I am a VERY protective mom who was anxious and nervous about sending my child to preschool for the first time. However, Montessori American School won me over very quickly and allayed all my fears! This preschool/kindergarten is the perfect blend of academics, culture appreciation, and socialization. They foster independence, creativity, and a genuine pride in learning in all of their students. The entire staff is dedicated to guiding each child in discovering an... read more

This is an amazing school!! My son wakes up excited to go to school every morning! I am amazed to everything he has learned. The teachers are very professional and really friendly with the kids! I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this school!! I continue to be amazed with the dedication and passion the teachers have when teaching their children. I am also very impressed with the director, Ms. Edith, being extremely involved and informed with each of her classrooms. My daughter could not be happier at this school and you are always greeted with sincere kindness and warm smiles at American Montessori!

I do not recommend this school the director was super rude and unprofessional with me and my kid. She is classist because she only acts nice to wealthy people so no make sense the Montessori system with her on charge.

This review is based on our tour of this school. The director of the school was terrible to us. From the judgmental looks she gave from the moment she opened the gate to let us in, to the way she hovered over my answers as she insisted we fill out an application before even giving us a tour of the school. She had an off putting interest in if me and my husband were married and what our income was... even seeming to question whether my husband was his real dad, continuing to ask my son "where's daddy?" I skipped the portion ... read more

Business response:

Hello Trevina, We have read your review and would like to acknowledge a few key points, as we believe there is a misunderstanding at hand. The application that we provided is what we give to every parent that would like to register their child for our Montessori program. Please know that this is standard practice for private schools and our only goal is to gather basic information necessary for enrollment. Our sincerest apologies if you felt the application packet was a personal attack, as that was not our intention. Alth... read more

I have debated writing this review, but I feel it needs to be said: this preschool is in it purely for the money. My 2 kids were enrolled here from 2017-2020. While the actual care was fine -- some teachers are more burned out than others -- it was not a place my kids loved going. (Now that they are at another Montessori, they actually LOVE it, and I see they were not getting the love at MAS that they get at their new school.) On top of that, when Covid hit, MAS closed and the Director, Yoli, demanded parents pay full tuitio... read more

My daughter was there for months. She never came around to liking the place. She would cry everyday we would drop her off. After speaking with the head of school Yolanda nothing was ever done. Numerous times we would pick her up with a wet diaper that was breaking apart inside (proof that it is old). She was starving everyday we would pick her up and started to lose weight. Even after I talked to her again nothing was done. Numerous times we asked if the teachers and staff could introduce her to some of the kids because she ... read more

Business response:

Hi Seth, Thank you for letting us and others know about your experience and for giving us the opportunity to educate your daughter. We tried our best to accommodate your family and meet your expectations. Sadly it didn't work out. There are three sides to every story: yours, mine, and the truth. As you can imagine, I have a different perspective than yours. Rather than pouring out all the details and arguing with you publicly, I will just humbly thank you for your review. But we'll keep thriving to provide an outstanding Mo... read more

It's wonderful to see so many pleased families. I'm glad your children had amazing experiences at this Montessori school. Unfortunately my grandson did not have such a great experience. He attended for about a year. My grandson is 4. He was getting physically shoved and pushed around by a 6 year boy and "nobody" noticed it. My grandson reenacted what the 6 year old was doing; it was a choke hold, while my grandson was facing down on the ground. This happened several times. All the school staff denied any knowledge of this. U... read more

Business response:

Please thank your son for giving us the opportunity to serve him and your grandson. We're sorry that things didn't work out. He is a well liked boy. As you can imagine, some of what you allege, we have different viewpoints. But genuinely hope that he is doing well in his new school and wish you and your family the best of luck. As for my teachers, all of them have AMI or AMS Montessori Teacher Certificates, in addition to their training in early childhood development. They are all CPR trained as well. As for me, I hold two ... read more
