I had my last dermatologist for a long time, she was a really thorough, lovely person. When she moved, I worried about her replacement. Recently I had an issue and made an appointment. Wow. They are wonderful. Nancy knew all of my past history and dealt with my issues with humor, empathy and skill. I am so happily surprised. Nancy and her nurse made me feel seen. A huge thanks to those two. That is very rare nowadays.
I haven’t seen Dr. Shina for six years yet she remembered me, my mother, and my daughter! She was very professional, courteous, kind, knowledgeable, and explained everything in terms I could understand. She took time to listen to me and my concerns. She wanted to check with my insurance before proceeding with further treatment and explained my options. I have moved, making the drive to see her even further, but she is worth it. I absolutely loved Dr Nancy Shina! She explained things well, she was extremely personable, empathetic and very sweet. She was very knowledgeable and I actually had a good time during my visit! I will absolutely be going to her as my dermatologist moving forward. The one and only thing that I did not like was her trying to convince me to buy the pharmacist’s personal brand of vitamins that he owns and created. Knowing I grew up in Hawaii and sunbathed a lot as a kid, Nancy knows I am worried about skin cancer and answers all my questions about strange looking moles on my body and is good to take biopsies when she sees something that looks suspicious. She is thorough, friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
Visiting Nancy is like seeing an old friend. She is warm and down to earth. She will make you feel comfortable even in some not-so-comfortable situations. She really listens and cares about you. She is intelligent and pro-active. I look forward to my visits with her.
