Dr. Kaufman actually talks to me, answers my questions, explains the problem I have in terms I can understand and how the treatment is going to go. This is the physician I want long term in my life.
This doctor cares about patients and knows his medicine. Upon our first meeting, he respected my same-gender marriage and affirmed it. I came to him about more than a year searching for a GI doctor who would listen to me and act based on that info. Within a week of meeting with and following his instructions, my chronic condition was moving from "intolerable" to "treatable." He provides an email for is patients to contact him directly and responds WITHING 24 HOURS, but often within 8 hours.
I have been a patient of Dr. Kaufman for over a year and I find he is the most knowledgeable physician in gastroenterology and I have been through 5 (because the first one retired). He is down to earth, does't 'jump the gun' and come up with radical solutions that are not necessarily warranted and open to thinking about alternatives. I am so glad I found him.
Recently had my first visit with Dr. Kaufman and found him to be extremely thorough with his intake interview and very personable. He encourages questions and respects the individual needs of each patient. I left the visit feeling highly confident that I had made the right choice in seeing him.

I found Dr. Kaufman to be a compassionate , caring person with astute diagnostic abilities. He prides himself with the desire to stay in touch with his patients during treatment and their concerns, by Email or portal ,daily if needed. If 5 stars represent the best qualities of a physician, I would award 6.
