The atmosphere is a curious mix of hipster with fine dining, with food and pricing to match. On a friend's recommendation, we ordered one appetizer and one pizza to share, which left us just enough room for a dessert each. Our roasted artichokes and our leek and potato pizza tasted good and were very interesting, but had texture issues that left us slightly unfulfilled. However, the rhubarb cobbler and chocolate tart we ordered for dessert were fantastic.
I applaud their service. We happened to be in a hurry and they accommodated our schedule. The food was simply delicious. The ingredients were top notch and the overall experience was delightful. Cheers.
Too bad about the location. Regardless, P712 is the best restaurant in the Provo/Orem area
We went to Pizzeria 712 about 3 months ago with some friends and were very impressed. The food was great -- pork belly was fantastic, charcuterie platter was full and diverse (several meats, currants, several cheeses), pizzas were prepared perfectly with just the right amount of sauce and cheese so that the bottom crust was still crispy. We have been enjoying 712 since they opened. Food is usually always great. Simple, tasteful menu. Unfortunately, the service continues to decline each time we dine. The last two times were horrible, the first of the two, our waitress brought out everything we ordered at the same time. A cheese plate, short rib, gnocchi, salad and pizza! We are "regulars" at Pizzeria, and have stuck with them through ups and downs of good and horrendous service over the years... Only because of the food. Friday night we were there and were asked to leave our table for another reservation. (Just to mention, we have been the one waiting for our table for our reservation for over an hour before....) needless to say, we were quite shocked, and can only say we will expect the same consideration next time we have a reservation.
Both my wife and I found this dining experience to be less than satisfying. The food had an odd taste to it and was not evenly cooked. Definitely not the right place if you are looking for a really good pizza. They were also out of some basic things like olives and certain types of beverages.
712 was, up until a year ago, one of the better restaurants in Utah, serving the best pizza and arguably the best appetizers in the state. Those days, however, appear to be over. Over our last 3-4 visits we have witnessed a restaurant in decline, and our last trip might have been our last. The noise was so loud I could not carry on a conversation with the person across the table from me. The food and portions were average or below average, the pizza crust was burned a fair amount around the top. The bottom crust was not done. The sausage was dry, crumbly and had very little taste.
