I don’t normally blast people but today is my first experience w poq vet and last. After making a appt for 9am, i finally asked the office at 950 when I would be seen. Then Im told we cant do anything for your animal after they received the file yesterday and they choose to make the appt anyway. So thanks for wasting a hour of my time.

My dog has been going here for a number of years. On Friday, my 17 1/2 year dachshund became sick. We took him to the emergency vet and was told he had had a seizure. They sedated him, we took him home and was told to follow up with our regular vet as soon as possible. My dog had another seizure that night. I called Poquoson first thing Saturday morning and spoke with Nikki. I told her everything and how the er vet wanted us to follow up with them. Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that we were unable to accommodate your pet on Saturday. Unfortunately we only hold office hours until noon on Saturdays, seizure activity requires 24/7 monitoring and very close attention by doctors and support staff. We are not staffed on Saturdays for the level of care a seizing patient would require. We always want what’s best for each patient, and in this case that would be a referral to a 24 hour emergency hospital. We are very sorry for your loss.
