The Yellowtail ceviche is to die for and the music was really good. We went 3 times during our 5 day trip!
Redeye is a classic Manhattan restaurant, with an old world, clubby charm, live music, and great food. We had the price fixe dinner, and it was a terrific value. The portions are generous and delicious.
Service was poor from host through waiter but the food was lovely.
We had so much fun with the hostess, serving staff other than our actual waiter who was aloof and unfriendly, and the musicians. It's unfortunate that our waiter was a dud as the meal was delicious, ambiance wonderful and the piano player and singer were perfect!
From the time we walked in we were treated amazing. Seated immediately and greater by fresh bread and waiter. Service was wonderful and out waiter was personable and friendly and helpful with all requests. I will return next time I am in NYC.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the nicest host and hostess. They made us feel completely welcome, and we knew we were in for a treat! It was my husband's birthday, and they sat us next to the window at a circle table sprinkled with a little bit of birthday confetti-- this touch made his night extra special. Great reception from the front of the house. Waiter was very personable but it tool 2 hours to get our meal and we were on a time constraint. My suggestion would be to allow plenty of time if you have a time constraint. Overall so worth it!
We had a early dinner after a matinee on Saturday. The food was amazing. The service was very quick and attentive. When my husband mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday the staff went out of there way to put a sparkler on my desert and sing a very fun rendition of "Happy Birthday to a perfect stranger" to make me feel special. I loved it.
The best thing about Redeye is the live music by far. My three times there they had a female singer and a piano player who also sang. They are pretty good and we've enjoyed that the most. The first two visits we enjoyed the food more. Each time I get the Ribeye but this time is had way too much fat on it. Probably 25% I had to cut away. The mashed potatoes were tasteless.
