I totally understand that after the patriot act and the last financial crisis, lenders and banks are obliged to make sure one, you can pay your mortgage, two that all funds used for these transactions are not sourced by terrorist-backed funds. The only way to accomplish this is to verify that the funds came from an alternate and legitimate source. Nonetheless, the process of refinancing my current/old mortgage was quite painful.
