Before we closed we did a final walk through. There was standing water in the basement. I was under the impression a wet basement should not qualify for a VA loan. I called Shawn for a re appraisal and he said "let me call Jim" Jim is my realtor who was only out for his own bottom line. We are currently stuck in a home that needs thousands of dollars of repairs to the basement. I feel this loan should have been put on hold for a further investigation.

Be more upfront about the eventual overall costs of the refin - and the ending change in total amount due. Total cost of the loan ended up jumping over $6,000 - not sure the lower interest rate really may have been worth that in the long run.

More communication through out the loan process. I would have loved to not loose money on this transaction as well.

If the processor would have been more detailed as to the status of the loan progress . Shawn was great though. My sellers moved out to meet the deadline of the original closing date and it would have been less stressful for them if I were able to keep them better informed .

I had the pleasure of working with Shawn Bloom throughout the whole process, he made it very easy to understand and if I had questions he got back to me right away. He even gave me his personal cell phone number that way we could text back and forth so I didn't have to check my email constantly. He was great!

My experience with the mortgage process was a stressful one. I totally understood why I was asked to provide a lot of documentation and I NOW know how it all works. Shawn kept me hopeful and kept my stress at a manageable level. He was very personable and upbeat when I was not either of those! I was so doubtful I would get the loan but Shawn kept me believing in the process and it all worked out!
