A bit sleazy. The "survey" promised to give a dollar amount I could spend in retirement. Instead the survey gathered personal information in order to "recommend" financial planners... ******.
I registered to receive an article on **** conversion strategies, specifically an article. They basically collected my information for sales and contacted me to set up appointments. They did not have the content and information I requested. Poor coordination.
Smart Asset is a complete scam for both advisors and the investing public. As a financial advisor with a spotless 25 year record for two major international brokerage firms, I paid Smart Asset thousands of dollars each month for supposedly pre-qualified prospective clients who were seeking advice. Never signed up for this. Got a strange email and AI voice call. I'm also on the Do Not Call registry. Texted me, called me and emailed me. Tried to call the number listed on their website and it's just terrible hold music that goes on and on. Not cool to harass people. I'll let the *** know.
