I received an email that we owed the June rent for $560 and in the body of the email it stated : If your lease ends in June 2021 please disregard this message That is pure trickery. How many people just pay it without scrolling all the way down the email?Sunchase should be ashamed. I am contacting the better business bureau. This is unethical at least. It is also immoral. How dare they try to poach any more money from us than they have already. Beware of their billing.

Hi Mary, as your screenshot shows, the first sentence of the email states that if you have paid rent or if your lease ends in June, please disregard the email. This is before any statement of amounts owed and requires no scrolling. In the rare occurrence of an overpayment by a resident, all accounts are always refunded promptly - 100% of the time. These balances are viewable 24/7 via our resident portal.
Sunchase is a joke.. It's all about ripping people off.. You move in and thing are a mess.. walls all scratched up and floor all marked up.. My son stayed in his room most of the time and keep it up very nice.. When he left, we went down and moved him out.. The wife cleaned it to make sure we would get our deposite back.. NO WAY.. sent some note that out of $150.00 we were getting back $17.00 because of things that they had to fix in the common area's. My son didn't even use the common area's, they were already in bad shape... read more

We checked your son's file and see that he did have some roommate issues in the past, so we removed the labor charges for cleaning and repairs to the common area. Thank you so much for towing both of my parents’ cars when they came to visit me and watch the football game!!! And thank you for always charging us unexplained service fees!!!! Those Oreos in the office are really good though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the last month of my rent sunchase did not send me the regular email I had every single other month of my lease reminding me to pay my rent. They sent nothing to remind me until I got notice from a lawyer with 65$ in fees when I am already 15 days late. I was in the office turning in my keys seven days after the rent was due, I told them what apartment and room I was in and signed all the paperwork without them mentioning I hadn't paid my rent. Julie, We're sorry for the confusion in this month's payment. Per the lease agreement, rent is always due the first of the month. A reminder email is sent by our payment provider as a convenience to residents and guarantors, but is not guaranteed. A late notice was sent after our 5-day grace period, but the payment was not received in our office until the 21st, past our court filing date. We were able to waive your late fee, but cannot recoup the court costs. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
