My loved one was previously a resident at The Ashford on Broad. Staffing was very limited, therefore causing a great deal of the issues we experienced. The building maintenance was not good. They did not have an activities person for a long time. All in all, it wasn't what I had hoped it would be.
The accommodations are generally nice but the care is slow to adapt to a new resident and is inconsistent. Communication between staff and contracted care providers seems slow and/or not clear- (i.e., no one really seems to know when the NP will be in the building or when the Podiatrist is coming). For specific assistance such as showers, sometimes they just don't show up. We picked this community because, of the location and it was all inclusive. Things have definitely gotten better, and seems improve. They can do better with cleaning the room. Most of the staff is friendly. My loved one has been happy with the food. Overall, they seem to be okay. I would recommend to other families. They have been receptive any issues that we have had.
I would say that, when compared to other facilities, it is above average, but that it is not without its challenges-- frequent turnover of director, employees, etc.; short handed with regard to staff; rise in monthly fee even during the first year.
I toured this community and it was nice. We were just looking for a smaller setting for dad, so not the best fit for us.
I think there were some initial communication steps we had to get worked out. Some things didn't get done initially. And I think they have some short-staffing issues, especially on weekends,. But I think they're trying, and they're being responsive to my concerns. It's just something you have to pay attention to as the resident or families of residents. Cost is comparable to other places we looked at.
[name removed] was absolutely wonderful. She took her time, allowed us to ask as many questions as we could think of, she was prepared, and very knowledgeable.
I think the community is a really great place. With warmer weather, we were able to visit outside and really enjoyed it. I would recommend this community to others
We chose The Ashford because it was recommended to us, we did get to tour it and for what you get in terms of cost, they were heads above the rest. The room sizes here are very large, spacious, and open. They have a lot of natural light and a lot of them have balconies. I have eaten here myself and the food is excellent. They have a dining room with leather bound menus and a chef and nutritionist on site. They have a great selection and can accommodate people if they don't like what is on the menu.
