My aunt spent two weeks while I was on vacation. My aunt was very well cared for, and was very happy during her stay, staff was wonderful,
I toured Emeritus and found it to be a unique community. The cottage style set up was very different and intimate for residents that live there. Everyone seemed happy and well cared for. The landscaping was beautiful. The , patio, rocking chairs and courtyard area were all very inviting. The various apartments shown were adequate to meet the needs of my loved one. It's just a business to the owners. All this stuff about caring for your loved one is just a bunch of BS. Very under staffed facility that has problems with residents falling, hurting themselves and being stuck in wheelchair for long periods of time. Actually witnessed several falls with injuries while visiting. Stay away from this place!!
Extremely short staffed and they just don't seem to care. Watched several residences fall and have major injuries due to no supervision. I would stay away from here for your loved ones . The management dies not care about your loved ones, they only care about the amount of money they can receive. Unfortunate but that is how it is at the cottages.
This was another awful experience that my loved one had. He was there for only 24 hours and they shipped him out without my knowledge or permission and I was there all the time they never even had a problem they shipped him out for a medication modification.
Brookdale sold me on a bunch of promises which they couldn't fulfill, very disappointing and regretful, is my experience. This is really a place for more outgoing seniors. The activities aren't very fun; I would describe them as "canned." I also felt my mother wasn't cared for very well, rather left to fend for herself and find her own way. The first impressions were great; looks clean, no smell, and told about activities. My mom was in the memory care so the doors were locked all the time. You need someone to let you in and out. There were times when I was visiting there where I couldn't find anyone around to let me out. I was also felt nickel and dimed over things. I didn't want some services but were forced to pay for them. We were encouraged to let them take care of the medication but a few times when I was there they, we were giving the wrong medication.
