We went to The Kirby House for the first time last night. Our wait was about an hour, which we didn't mind because we were told ahead of time that it probably would be that long especially on the weekend. We were seated, got our drinks, ordered our food, and while waiting for our food the restaurant lost power. The employees came around with miniature oil lamps to help with the lighting. Well I am disappointed to read any bad reviews here. This is a wonderful restaurant - with food and service to match. We were fortunate to choose it last evening amongst so many other choices in Grand Haven. The staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. The food was absolutely 5 Star quality. We both had the specials, pasta for my husband and pork shank for myself. Both were exceptional. Creme Brule for dessert was the best we've found in Michigan. Beautiful time with my kids. Had a food issue and it was taken care of like I was the Queen of England. Jack was the best server!
The food was AMAZING! The staff was great! Super attentive and right on top of things. Tge bathrooms really need an update, my shoes were sticking to the floor (yuck). And the tables on the deck on the main floor were sticky also. We all had to go wash our hands, and forearms up to our elbows to get rid of that gross feel.
