Time for a new dentist. After going through IAOMT site to find a SMART certified dentist I decided on Paul Wilke. For future patients my experience was the following. The protocol put in place by IAOMT is not 100% followed by this doctor. When I asked why he didn’t do specific things in the protocol he said that he measured the Mercury levels himself and it’s not an issue. You find this out when you are in the chair. Since my first appointment with Dr Wilke, et.al., I have been convinced that good health begins with a good mouth. The first project resulted in my chronic sinus issues disappearing. The second project resulted in my handwriting improving drastically. The third project began 2-days ago and I have already noticed a difference in a skin issue. I came to Dr. Wilke for a second opinion re another dentist wanting to drill and fill two cavities. Dr. Wilke told me that those two cavities existed only in the imagination of that dentist. Case closed.
The hygienist sub was disappointing. She was busy questioning me for counsel, which I wouldn't mind in the appropriate setting. However, I feel it effected her work. As a matter of fact, she started by saying my teeth looked great and were in little need of cleaning. As a result, she did very little, leaving me feeling like nothing was done. Most of our time together was spent discussing her and her daughter's current health challenges. Disappointing.
The staff is very nice and Dr. Wilke explains all the procedures so that I understand my options. I also like that he is a Biological Dentist and trained in nutrition. That is the reason I drive 350 miles round trip for each appointment.
I was very fortunate to find a dentist that uses precautions to remove mercury from fillings. The office personnel were very friendly and courteous.
Two things that would enhance my experience are: 1. Not having to listen to staff talk or "complain" about other patients while I'm in the waiting room. 2. The pricing here is significantly higher than the dentist I have been going to, and probably go back to.
Dr. Wilke does not explain things very well. He prefers to keep his patients on a need to know basis, like we are children who just wouldn't understand what he is doing regarding our dentistry.
I still have some questions that have yet to be addressed, but, we will soon.
