I went to Waring Vision Institute in April of 2020 after hearing an ad on the radio. I’ve worn glasses or contacts for over 20 years and decided I was ready to get some information on making the transition into #lasik.
The staff was incredibly friendly & knowledgeable. They provided the different options available as well as the pros and cons of each. After my screening we all agreed lasik was the best (and most preferred) option.
There was no wait - the appointment was booked for a couple day’s later. I had the upmost confidence in the staff and wasn’t nervous when I arrived. They prepared me for what to expect, how it would feel & the outlook.
The procedure itself was very fast. I went from needing someone to guide me to the room (having nearly -5 vision (normal is 20/20)) to able to sit up and already see better.
The drops were easy to do - and every day I was able to see more and more. When I went in for my follow-up, I was seeing 20/15!
My eyes don’t burn or itch from contacts. I don’t get headaches from wearing glasses that were just never quite strong enough.
It’s almost September- nearly 5 months have passed- and I can still see clearly. My eyes don’t ache or sting - which was just what I thought was normal for over 20 years.
Best thing I could have ever done for myself was get lasik vision. I’ve wanted to for at least 10 years and never felt comfortable enough to do it.
$The big part$ - The cost was less than I expected. I was able to finance the expense and make a comfortable payment each month. I wasn’t prepared to pay in full - and that was ok. The payment is interest free. I’m paying less for this and only over a year than I have ever have or would have paid for vision checks, glasses, contacts, solutions, cases etc.
Several thousands of dollars spent to do something some people can do naturally - see clearly. Contacts are only good for 3-4 weeks and then you need a new pair (and sometimes [usually]) a different Rx for each eye. They require constant upkeep, avoiding getting them wet, making my eyes itchy or red. Whereas now I will have the gift of sight for life - and only cost me a fraction of what I spent in a year or two ok vision.
