Oh Waterloo... from the long lines at the elevator (only one works - and the friendly signs in the elevator bank suggest that you "get your steps in and walk") , to the windowless bedrooms that are tiny, to the roof top pool leak that flooded our daughters' bathroom - Waterloo was a thumbs down.
STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!! The folks at the Waterloo Austin will talk a really good game when they're trying to get you to sign a lease. But once that lease is signed - it's absolutely impossible to get in touch with anyone. My daughter ended up changing her college plans and we were in the position of finding someone to take over her leases. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Management is terrible. Elevators have been down for over 8 months because Waterloo refuses to pay for a permanent solution. Living on the 24th floor, I've had to climb over 100 flights of stairs in a single day just to get to class and work on time. Walking up 24 floors is usually faster than waiting for the 1-2 working elevators. Several days ago a pipe burst on the 29th floor, causing water damage on the floors below. staff is mostly unhelpful, and maintenance on the building is non existent especially compared to the price you pay to live here
Management does not care about residents AT ALL. The elevators haven't worked right since before I moved in in August, the showers have no water pressure and no warm water. I get charges $60 a month for trash fees and yet the trash room is just filled with garbage so I don't know where that money is going. Management is just rude and rolls their eyes when they have to do something as simple as getting a resident the package they ordered.
Coming from a parent who has had a student living here from two years, do not live here if you want: 1. large rooms 2. private phone calls to be protected 3. reliable elevators without long lines of over 10+ minutes 4. kind staff 5. deliveries on time and unhidden 6. apartment gym with fully functioning equipment 7. study areas that are clean and available 8. the value of your money 9. guaranteed window 10. emails and concerns to management from the first week being responded to, instead of ignored 11. fire alarms and water ... read more
They have failed to fix the elevators for several days. My daughter and her roommates have been walking up and down 24 flights of stairs which is beyond unacceptable! How are disabled residents managing. Stay away from this building!
