After years of using (and rebuilding) another popular brand of pool cleaner, I'm pleased with my Zodiac G3 for its value & simplicity. It does its job!
I found this pool cleaner easy to set up. I have only had three problems with it - 1. I have citrus trees and when marble sized fruit fall in the pool, it clogs the vacuum. 2. Periodically the finned disc will get stuck in my main drain. 3. It does tend to have a pattern but all vacuums I have owned do this in my pool as the port for the hose in on the long side of the pool and it seems to prevent the vacuums from having a more random pattern. Nothing inherently wrong with the vacuum, just my quirky situation.
Does the bulk of the cleaning. Although, the G3 cleans the bottom and walls of the pool, it does not climb the steps. I'm OK with it not climbing the steps because I still like to brush the pool so I can visually inspect for any issues. The G3 comes with 12 sections of hose. I only needed 9 sections of hose to cover the pool but noticed the G3 would get stuck in the corner of the bottom step. I attached the remaining sections of hose, for a total of 12 sections of hose, and now the it does not get stuck.

It's an amazing product!
This is our second Zodiac G3 purchase, having given our first one quite a workout. We have a very large pool and this cleaner does an amazing job keeping up with the high demands of a pool this size. The Zodiac G3 climbs walls and steps with ease and is simple to use and maintain. Replacing parts due to normal wear & tear is a breeze.
After about half a year of service I am very satisfies with the performance of the G3 cleaner. My pressure gauge shows me when to clean the filters and it resumes its duty after that.
Works well in our pool. This is our third one and we love it
