A girlfriend and I dined at 1609 Prime Cuts at 5pm on a Wednesday, and sat in the section of Shaudine - Food Server (1609). Shaudine was attentive, knowledgeable about the entire menu, and helpful in recommending dishes. Overall, we had such delightful meal experiences. We started with their Oysters Rockefeller, which included 6 good-sized oysters topped with creamy spinach and toasted breadcrumbs. Delicious! For my meal, I ordered the Tomahawk Prime Steak ($130). Although the restaurant is à la carte, the tomahawk comes wit... read more
My first experience at this restaurant was one to remember. Came with a couple of friends and the food here was amazing. For starters I had some buffalo wings and for my main meal I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Our waiter (Carmen) gave us excellent service and to top it off for dessert we had the cheesecake which tasted great! The place had a nice calm vibe to it, one of my buddies was so intrigued by the display of the bar and their drinks. Highly recommend!
Wife and I had a really good experience here during a Saturday date night. The food is excellent. Oysters casino, bone-in ribeye, and short ribs with risotto were all cooked perfectly and delicious. The good bread and intermezzo between the appetizer and main were nice touches. Ambiance in a back room was nice. View of the kitchen. Classy space. Noise from the casino floor was a little annoying, but it fades into the background with a drink and conversation. Still, some jazz or a live piano would be a nice touch to complet... read more
The ribeye steak was the best I've ever had. Michael our server was top notch . Service was quick and all of our came out to table hot and ready to eat. We went there for our 51st wedding anniversary . Also for my daughters birthday.
Great spot. Great chef. Loved the atmosphere. Great wait staff. Would recommend!!!!!!
The wine list here is surprisingly impressive. We enjoyed four glasses of Pinot noir and rose for $50. Solid service and live music on the background-what's not to like? And it beats all the tired old neglected places in Montclair and Woodbridge
Food was a 10/10. I was genuinely shocked at how good everything was. Didn't get to take pictures because we were taking in the experience. Crab cakes were tasty, nice size for the $. My wife ordered the ribeye with the brussels which was phenomenal. I had the short rib with the rissoto. We also shared the lobster but asked for it to be grilled. We've been to all of the local steakhouses in the dc region. This was right up there at the top!
Wow ..what a difference. Our 1st visit was abysmal. What could go wrong did go wrong. We gave it another try and I'm so glad we did! The service was fantastic (Peria was our server). Peria was totally on the ball without hovering. Then the food happened! The head lettuce salad is big enough to share or eat as a meal. The crab cakes were top tier! And the bread...ooooh the bread *chef's kiss*. Dinner was bone in ribeye, asparagus, loaded baked potato (Chernobyl size). Everything was PERFECTLY cooked. Sous Chef Jam... read more
The first time we went to 1609 has horrible. We were invited back to try them out again and it was amazing. The service, the food and the drinks were very good. The seafood soup was the best I've ever had. The ribeye was cooked perfect. I have to mention the Sous Chef James Richey, he came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Christy Trower I thank you for inviting us back. We have a new favorite dinner spot.
